Out of respect for Edward's final wishes and to keep Edward's legacy alive we are putting forward Crowdfunding proposal to these who knew Edward, with the aim of raising sufficient funds to purchase the house to fulfil his wishes.
Throughout his time at 20 Forty Avenue, Edward had made the house available to support students and young people from Spain and elsewhere whilst in London. Edward's last wish was for ,,the house to become a study centre for students from Spain so they have accommodation''.This is how Edward had used the top part of his home whilst he was alive.
Years ago Edward restored 20 Forty Avenue in a unique manner with a bold décor internally and externally, reflecting his area of research in the history of art and design. He explored a palette of complimentary colours on a grand scale and expanded a Mandrian themed kitchen. The kitchen has appeared in design publications and more recently the house was included in London Architecture Weekend.
His deeply held wishes, which he had spoken about many times over the years, were for this identity to be kept intact after his death. He was researching the best way to do this, encouraged by the overwhelming interest of hundreds of visitors in his home interior during Open House weekends. He felt there was sufficient scope and interest for the house to justify being left left as a museum and allow people to visit.
